Kiva - thank you so much for taking the time to provide those helpful links ~ I'll explore every one of them, also will buy your book! I fell like this is my 'lifeline', saving me from sinking any further.

Namaste,

Thank you everyone for your kind comments, I'll try to post poetry here more often! In the meantime, you can check out my Rooted Muse category from the herb blogs which includes quite a few of my poems from the last few years http://bearmedicineherbals.com/?cat=79

Juni - Yes, intense connection to place certainly possible in an urban area. Place is place, no matter what we do to it - and human impact may help and heal a place or it may sicken and suppress it, depending on our actions.

Connection, delight, bliss - all of these are available to us any time and place we choose to remember and act from our intimate relationship with the planet that is our extended, full self. It is equally true, however, that there will always be a certain void in our hearts and souls - a piece of us missing - if we are not with the place that calls us as home. Contentment comes with satisfaction, and with knowing we are being true to our authentic selves with every breath, choice and moment.

Many of my Sagewoman pieces speak of my past, and there are a few online as well. I'll list a few links here for you to check out. My upcoming Medicine Woman Herbal and Core book speaks more of my healing transformation and personal history as well.

Kiva Rose - again, such heartwarming and honest writing ~ it almost sounds angelically inspired! The thread I pick up is that intense connection and love of PLACE, as you describe the dirt under your toes, the sound of the babbling river ~~ are these feelings possible in an urban setting? Must we find our 'soul home' (as I'm sure you have there) in order to feel this euphoria and contentment? I would love to read how you began your journey to Anima, how did you find this magical place and know that it was where you belonged ~~ can you direct me to any previous writings or books about your past? Surmising the hellish environment you came from, it would be most encouraging to know that we can transform into such a positive state!

Thanks for this inspired writing, it blesses us all ~

As I long for belonging
And I "close the distance
between myself and eveything"
and everybeing
I connect to
the Great Shining Tribe
of earth honouring people
everywhere.
Thank you.

Beautiful poem, Kiva...I could feel, smell and sense you beautiful canyon as I read it. And, it reminded me of some beautiful, wild times in my childhood country home...

I would love to read more of your poetry!! :-)

Vicarious delight! Thank you, Kiva, for sharing your beautiful essence of Self and Place...one and the same thing, so beautifully expressed in all of its manifestations.

Kiva, I think this is my favorite so far! It made my heart sing this morning on a day I was in need for some serious uplifting. Thank you for reminding me that everything I need is within walking distance...
